If I Could See

If I could see the world through your eyes
What would I see

I might see death and destruction
Disease and starvation

Maybe I'd see wealth and power
Or poverty and hopelessness

I'm sure I'd see joy and kindness
Love and security

Through my own eyes
The view changes from minute to minute

I see beauty and ugliness
Light and dark

I see mountains to climb
And valleys to relax in

I see uncertainty and fear
Hope and exhilaration

Sometimes if I sit real still
And let my eyes wander

I can see the hand of God, my Savior
Gently caress another's spirit
