I have stayed pretty quiet on my personal page about the tragic annihilation of the life of Charlie Kirk. This is my page and I police it. If you do not like my comment feel free to employ the use of your finger and scroll on by or block me, unfriend me or do whatever you want. I will not notice you are gone anyways. Fair warning, any snarky, hateful comments or anybody cutting anybody down will be deleted. I will not have it here. So, after all the bullshit that I have read tonight here's what I think:
I had never heard of Charlie Kirk until all of this happened. He was just not in my wheelhouse at all. But he is a human being and to me human life is sacred and valuable and it matters. I do not really give a crap whether you are Republican, Democrat somewhere in the middle or just dazed and confused. I do not care. What I care about is human life.
The one thing that I have heard that rings true to me today in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk's death is what the governor of Utah said. He said the FIRST RIGHT that we have as Americans in the Declaration of Independence is the right to LIFE. Every person in the United States, no matter what their sexual identity, race, socioeconomic status, religion or lack thereof, etc ad nauseam has the RIGHT TO LIFE. It is the very first right we have in this country!! To me, it is a very sacred right.
My heart was just as broken when I watched the videos of George Foreman, heard another school had been attacked, saw the aftermath of the floods in Texas, and so on as I am with the demise of Charlie Kirk.
Like I said, I never heard of Charlie Kirk before this. I have listened to some of his videos since this happened. Actually on the few videos I have watched I was surprised at his acceptance of people where they were at. I never heard him belittle anyone for beliefs that were different from his. He knew how to engage someone in healthy debate. Look it up, it is not a bad thing to debate. What is bad is when people are yelling so loud at each other that no one is listening. Charlie Kirk did not do that. He listened even if he did not agree. At least that is my limited experience of him.
I have also noticed there are a lot of people posting things about Charlie Kirk that they got from somewhere on the internet. It is obvious they did not do their due diligence and go find where that one little snippet came from that they are blasting all over everyone's pages. Most of the things that are being posted are taken way out of context and turned into lies. But, God forbid anybody actually do some real painstaking research and find out if what they are posting is true or not. They do not do the research because they are lazy! I do not like those kind of people because they keep the divisiveness and hatred stirred up in this country. IT NEEDS TO STOP!!!
One last thing...WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REVERENCE FOR LIFE no matter what color you are, your sexual identity, what creed you live by or what religion you practice?!
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SACREDNESS AND HONOR OF A PERSON'S LIFE???!!!
I have buried so many people in the last 3 years that I dearly loved!! I could really care less what their political views were or anything else, I just loved them. Everyone on every single side of anything in this country needs to shut up about politics! ENOUGH ALREADY!!!
I would give anything to be able to give my daughter-in-love her mom back and my grandson his grandmother back. Frankly, I do not give a crap how she was registered or how she voted or anything else. I would just give anything to have her back. Just like I would give anything to have my dad and my stepmom back!! All of their lives were sacred to me and they meant something!!!!! Just like Charlie Kirk meant something!!
Where my heart aches is with Charlie Kirk's little three-year-old daughter and his young infant son who are never going to know their father!! That breaks my heart in two. And still people are over here spewing lies and arguing about crap that does not matter. All the hateful words and dehumanization of Charlie Kirk is sickening to me!! All this does is keep the cycle of hatred and division going in our country and it keeps the crazies out there on rooftops feeling justified to do away with anyone they want. This needs to stop!!
I for one will honor, in my own way, the life of Charlie Kirk and I will say a prayer for his family, just like I have done for others who have been lost through similar circumstances. Instead of focusing on the political bullshit of the day, I will focus on the family that God gave me. I will continue sow love into them. Lord knows we need more love right now.
I will close with this...
From 1 Corinthians 13:1-13
(what I call the love chapter)
1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
P.S. It is very sad that I feel the need to say this but I am. I am not a churchy person, if you are rock on. It never worked for me. But, I do know who my Savior is. I like this chapter in the Bible because it speaks to my heart and it explains the humanity of who I am and shows the heart of God's love for me. So there, go ahead and unfriend me and go away if you want. This is me raw and real...what you see is what you get with me.
